Hats by Kat & Accessories Too - Custom made hats, leather flower and hand knit accessories

Biography
Kathy Anderson is a graduate of Fashion Marketing and Related Industry program at FIT. I have worked for more than 25 years in manufacturing starting out in showroom sales moving into production as a assistant, working my way to becoming a fabric and trim buyer/production manager with such companies as AH Schreiber, Kellwood and Best Forms.

After years of wanting to showcase my creative side I decided to go back to FIT to study Millinery under one of the master milliner Ann Albrizio who was the founder of the millinery program at FIT. After Professor Albrizio became ill I was blessed to get Professor Nora Navarro who really gave me the passion to reach for the moon in creating hats ( I like to call Crowns). Thanks to Professor Navarro for teaching me to loosen my hands and go for the stars to create wonderful crowns.

After starting millinery classes in 1996, and receiving my certificate in Millinery I knew that making hats is what I want to do. So the time had arrived to go after my dream and from there " Hats by Kat and Accessories Too" was born. At this time my hats are carried at " The Hat Shop" owned by Linda Pagan in Solo, " Tribal Truths Collection " owned by Brenda Brunson-Bey in Downtown Brooklyn," Kiini Ibura Jewelry" in Clinton Hill section of Brooklyn owned by Melody Burns and "MK lifestyle" Madison Ave in Midtown owned by Margda Kristoff. I'm also a member of Milliners Guild   www.millinersguild.org

I create one of a kind hats in fur felt, faux fur and real fur, straw, fabric and leather, fascinators, bridal pieces as well as custom orders. I also design leather flower and ribbon flowers that can be worn as a hair accessories or brooch
